At last! It has been a long time since I had access to good enough internet to upload pictures.
Now, with plans to be in the big city for some rest being changed to a sudden trip to Canada, I am on my last evening in Belém.
My sudden trip to Canada was for the funeral of my father - we had a great family visit, a good time remembering Dad's life and the good influence that he had on many, and safety in many miles of travel as we gathered there.
Remembering Dad's humor, his positive outlook on life, and his desire to share the Gospel and the love of Christ with others, we shared many memories.
It is the end of a era - he was the youngest in his family. One brother-in-law was able to be there, but an elderly sister-in-law was too ill to come. She had had a small stroke just days before the funeral.
(Well, it is not working to upload here either!)

At last -some photos of our travels!
Some news and photos at last.
We have traveled 10,000 km since we bought a used van in June, just in time to have it before the BIG DAY! Esther was married in Edmonton - we celebrated with many friends and family members who honored us all with their presence. So now we are a family of six!
We visited friends in Alberta and Saskatchewan in July and August, and we celebrated Dad's 90th birthday, too.
We attended a program at Prairie that is called Quest (for seniors!) and we had a great visit with friends there, too.

We have been in Ontario since early September. There are many great moments - one was our first visit to Niagara Falls and Lundys' Lane!

Blessings!
We are back in Canada, planning for apx. 7 months and we are blessed!
We had safe flights all the way and have been reunited with our adult children.
We already had an appointment with an eye surgeon in Edmonton and he is willing to try a crosslinking treatment on my eye(s) to slow the cornea problem (it is already very bad on the right eye and is beginning on the left). When will this work into our schedule? We do not yet know.
We have been able to purchase a car - van (2003) in very good condition. We received it on June 11th, just before the BIG event!

Ju planned a shower for her sister - after I came from Brazil and she from Grand Prairie. I was happy that I could be here, and also that we could plan for Rob's Mom and sister to be with us then.

The rehearsal dinner was not traditional - both families had many out-of-province guests coming, so together we planned a big BBQ picnic in a riverside park in Edmonton. It was a good time to meet each others' families and friends.

June 13, 2009 - Unforgettable! We "gave away" our star and gained another son!

It was a great time for a family reunion as many of Robert's family came from Ontario and Gladys' two sisters and brother (with some of their families) traveled to be with us also.
More family pictures will be posted as they are available!
After the wedding we had two days with Mom and Marg Lundy to do some visiting and sightseeing. Mom moved away from Edmonton in 1937, 72 years ago, and has not been back since! Today we visited the street where she used to live and stood where her home used to be, and we walked the aisles of the King Edward School where she studied for grades 1 - 9! We rode the street car across the High Level Bridge, bringing back many memories for her.

At last I am online again!
There is so much to share that it is not possible to do so now.
So here are a few pictures, worth a thousand words!

We are harvesting ata right now - a delicious fruit!
It is wonderful to get and to share the fruit of the trees that others planted before us.

Gladys had the privilege of visiting Indian territory (entering the reserve here) on a one-day trip to get a family and come back to Barra. Robert was there many years ago with another missionary family, so I went this time!
Internet is just too slow! This much has taken a long time!
Good night!
